Lute joined Iowa United as a math teacher in the fall of 2026, bringing a passion for helping young people grow into lifelong learners who are committed to serving and encouraging others. Throughout his career, Lute has worked with high school and college students in a variety of roles, helping them grow academically, personally, and in their faith. He enjoys seeing young people become the best versions of themselves, whether that growth happens in the classroom, on the court, in business, or in their relationships with others.

Lute began his professional career teaching and coaching at Wapsie Valley in rural Iowa, where he spent two years. He then spent eight years at Riverside Bible Camp in Story City, Iowa, serving as Program Director and overseeing programs and summer staff, including international summer staff. During this time, he also coached girls tennis at Boone High School. Lute later moved to Oahu, Hawaii, where he taught high school mathematics and helped coach the tennis teams at 'Aiea High School for four years. Working in a diverse, Title I school gave him the opportunity to serve students with a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and needs. He is excited to bring those experiences back to Iowa as part of the Iowa United team. Throughout his teaching career, Lute has worked with students across a wide range of ages and abilities. His teaching experience includes 7th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry & Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, Probability & Statistics, and courses involving Data and Computer Science.
